FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Atlanta, GA — After successfully delivering its first commercial-ready platform, the startup company Mogean has brought on Matt Reilly, with his more than 20 years of executive experience in business services and technology companies, to lead the company as its first CEO.
Mogean, a mobile geolocation data company based in Atlanta, has spent 18 months working on the design and engineering of its first commercial-ready platform, which launched in July. The company helps businesses map and contextualize the activity for its customers based on their actual behaviors when customers are not interacting with the company. In preparation for its launch, Mogean began searching for a CEO a year ago.
Reilly became a candidate for the CEO position while vetting the company’s startup team and operations for an investor. After getting involved in early adopter client interactions, pitches, follow-up meetings and pilot-engagement negotiations, it became clear Reilly would be the best fit for the position of Mogean’s CEO.
A graduate of Emory University with an MBA in finance, Reilly has published thought leadership on a range of topics in Harvard Business Review, The Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg Businessweek. Prior to joining Mogean, Reilly served as division CEO and one of four named executive officers at a business services company listed with the New York Stock Exchange.
Reilly also spent 11 years at Accenture—a global professional services company that provides solutions in strategy, consulting, digital technology and operations—and an acquired firm where he led Accenture’s consulting business in North America and held other senior roles.
“It’s Matt’s ability to create high-level business value and his understanding of capitalization strategies that make him the right fit for Mogean,” says cofounder Nate Halsey. Reilly’s business strategy and leadership perspective add tremendous value to the original startup team, comprising backgrounds in engineering, data science, marketing, finance and law.
Already, Reilly is securing partnerships with enterprise clients and managing high levels of expectation from those companies, which is critical during such a sensitive phase of growth. In his short time with Mogean, his extensive experience in executive-level sales and marketing has allowed Mogean to gain traction with a number of organizations in the sporting and entertainment, retail, food services and consumer packaged goods (CPG) industries. Reilly was also quick to identify an emerging trend for chief marketing officers (CMOs) to be data scientists and has positioned Mogean to feed the growing demand for delivering data science for strategic marketing leaders. Reilly has also helped Mogean identify its target customer and streamline the company’s message for its buyer.
With Reilly at the helm, Mogean plans to establish itself as the global leader in creating vast sets of useful data directly from consumer mobile devices, so the company becomes the go-to data scientists for CMOs and CEOs—allowing those companies to spend less time researching and analyzing and more time on their customers.
Mogean and Reilly share the philosophy that cutting-edge innovations in technology can greatly improve the world. More specifically, technology should not only work well, but also invisibly—removing the need for people to constantly work with technology to reap its benefits in their daily lives. It is with that philosophy that Reilly will propel Mogean forward, turning the company’s original idea into a viable business.
